The core business of Franck Borne, APURNA™’s CEO, is consulting and engineering for the major players within the aerospace industry.

Based on 28 years of technical expertise and following a 3.5 years period of Research & Development, our engineering office achieved its objectives through the launch in 2017 of an exceptional analogue amplifier – our APOGEE line.

Our class AB amplifier range has continued to evolve ever since.

Developed according to our disruptive technological approach, we pay a particular attention to details.

Our aerospace competence is reflected through our component choices as well as our PCB boards, all welds being performed and checked under a binocular loupe in our ateliers.

The aluminium casing of the APURNA™ amplifiers is designed as one single block, ensuring absolute mechanical rigidity and absence of vibrations.

Similar to aerospace best practices, the completely dustproof interior prevents accumulation of particles over time, providing exceptional fidelity as well as perfectly neutral tones for every listening moment.

The APURNA™ amplifier’s temperature is fully controlled, by means of a matrix algorithm steering the ventilation system,

guaranteeing their longevity and allowing a very wide variety of finishes.

Integration is very compact; all components of the amplifiers are meticulously organised, to favour the most logic and direct paths between the different signals, cables being replaced by brass busbars with a nickel and gold finish, obtaining an absence of interference noises.

Thanks to our know-how and by means of the use of specific technological components and the conception of eight-layer PCB boards, the APURNA™ amplifiers have an exceptionally short warm-up time, less than 10 minutes. Their distinctive architecture, combined with unmatched manufacturing quality, allows the amplifiers to reach their optimum performance within a couple of minutes only.

A high-performance, symmetrical, linear power supply, coupled with the use of ultra-fast recovering rectifier diodes, has been designed to drive any type of speakers, including the most demanding.

An important and constant power reserve delivers an impressive pulse power, up to 4500, widening the soundstage, regardless the listening volume.

The APURNA™ amplifiers deliver an exceptional linear signal. Silences between notes are genuinely profound, as a result of their extremely low distortion rate of 0.002% at 1kHz – 1W, as well as an exceptional signal-to-noise ratio, less than -120bB, making each micro-detail of the most complex musical scores distinctly audible.

An automatic purge system discharges the very low resistance smoothing capacitors (ESR series) once the amplifier is turned off, eliminating any memory effect, ensuring reliability and prolonging their life span.

In 2019, Franck Borne imposes his signature sound quality and ingenuity and launches the acoustic loudspeakers CARMINA by APURNA™. These sleek, floor standing speakers will certainly delight all aesthetes of sound and design.

Energy management is based on the disruptive technology CARS™, Composite Apurna Resonance System.

The fundamental principle of CARS™ is a controlled elasticity of the speakers’ cabinet, guaranteeing tonal balance over the entire frequency spectrum, as well as a neutral sound color, without any deformation.
